Shoutcast Listing

Hi. I have had my free streaming account for about 4 months and I am still not listed on shoutcast. How do I get my station listed? Please help

Hello,

Free accounts can't be listed on Shoutcast.com - this is disabled because the Shoutcast directory bypasses the station page which contains our ads (the service is ad supported).

I noticed that the FREE streams are finally being listed on stationfinder.org, but it keeps saying "Unnamed Server" and at times the song is not listed. I found this out by accident because my station name was not being listed with Stationfinder and I also had buffering issues with only one listener @ 64K Mp3.

Being listed on Shoutcast.com really is not a big deal anyway because their directory is really starting to suck anyway. Even my paid server does not get that many listeners from Shoutcast.com. I had to post my station on several online directories and get my station on iTunes for anything to happen as Listeners go. Facebook too is a good place to start. Just becasue your using a FREE server does not mean your station won't get listeners either. Stationfinder.org did well for me when they use to list FREE stations there. Apparently Gavin is trying again.

Hi,

Free stations have been listed again on stationfinder as I found a more efficient way of processing the tens of thousands of ports in the database (most of which are probably not used any more).

If it says Unnamed Server or something similar then it means that you haven't entered your stream description in your source settings. Once you've done that it will update your server and within a couple of hours the directory should update.
