streaming is great pity about the buffer

Postby Peakhillfm » Mon 11th Jul, 2011 8:52 am

We have come on board from Oz.
We set up the streaming last night,BUT are unable to buffer..........
We set the outfit wo invite our listeners and as soon as we buffer.......well it gets to 85%-95% then goes all the way to open then closes........
What is the problem. Can some one advise.
We are using winamp/Shoutcast 1.9.1 (or whatever it is) and everything is fine, its just that no-one can tune in and listen to us.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
I have also put this onto another section of the board, but this is more detail.
Have a Great Day
Peter

Hopefully your new UK based server will help things :)

We do use multiple networks just in case this kind of thing happens. The problem with the Internet, especially when large distances are involved, is that the stream has to go through multiple networks which are out of the host's control and that can cause problems.

Hi,

The server hasn't had any problems, but I noticed that your source wasn't connected.

We have tried everything to connect to your server,BUT we are advised that 'server is down' or server isnt on air.
What the hell is going on over there....FIX it please or we go somewhere else.

Just to let anyone know, the servers weren't down. As anyone that knows Shoutcast will understand, when not streaming you get a message saying:

Server Status: Server is currently down

http://secure.bellonline.co.uk/knowledg ... -down.html

This is normal and just means there's no source.
