Few questions before signing up...

Postby capsfanalex » Sun 30th Jan, 2011 6:22 am

1) Can I have callers call into my show?
2) If the above is a yes, how many callers, and do I get a panel to manage callers?

3) Can I use Skype to host my show without paying for skype minutes?
4) What is your server uptime?

Hey,

You can start off by telling what you are planning on using,
Are you planning to use the free streaming or the paid one?

Hi,

1) Can I have callers call into my show?

Yes, you can set this up. I co-host a talk show and I got a mobile phone hands free kit and connected it to a plug for the mixer. All it needed was a soldering iron and pair of scissors.

2) If the above is a yes, how many callers, and do I get a panel to manage callers?

As many callers as you like - we have nothing to do with your phone or callers, you'd need to check your phone provider but generally you can take as many calls as you like.

3) Can I use Skype to host my show without paying for skype minutes?

I don't know, best to ask Skype. I've never used Skype.

4) What is your server uptime?

Based on 2010 uptime, info available from http://status.bellonline.co.uk/server-status/:

These are the averages of each all of the servers on each network (web hosting not included as you only mentioned streaming).

Premium service: 99.979%
Value service: 99.922%
Free service: 99.34%

These stats include downtime for maintenance, we don't hide maintenance from our figures like others do.
It's also worth noting that the stats are generated by ping, so may not detect when a server becomes slow due to high load (this only happens on the free network so the free service uptime may be inflated slightly).
During most of 2010, the premium network SLA was 99.9%. It was only put up to 100% recently.

I hope this helps.
