Free Stream Restarts

Postby freetap » Thu 12th May, 2011 4:58 pm

I was wondering. If the Free Stream is reset automatically if idle for a given amount of time,
Then can I choose the time it is reset to avoid confusion for my listeners?

For example, if the stream has no listeners from 8pm to 8am, then I could stop and restart my stream at 2am on my own to avoid interruption at a time when I expect to have listeners?

Would me stopping and restarting my stream reset the timer?

The servers are only turned off if the stream is inactive (ie no source), we don't stop streams that are running unless there's a problem with the servers.

Sometimes the free ones get a little overloaded (due to high demand and lower spec hardware) but we are always working on adding more servers when possible in order to keep the service as reliable as possible.
