How do you get mp3 tags to display correctly?

Postby memberme » Tue 19th Aug, 2008 2:40 pm

I seem to have a problem getting mp3 tags to display correctly. I've tried editing tags with a couple different apps, but they always seem to display as something like "ÿþC - ÿþD." I've tried editing tags in Cubase when I mixdown a file. I've tried editing them with "Tag & Rename," and I've tried editing them manually in Winamp. What should I be doing differently?

Thanks.

EDIT: This question is in regard to the Auto-dj system, not streaming from Winamp with Shoutcast. The problem may still exist when streaming from Winamp, too, but I use live input when I broadcast so I haven't noticed.

That does happen sometimes with all players , I'm not sure what causes it but I'll definately look in to that.

Try opening the files in Winamp, right click the song title in the playlist editor and View File Info - see if the ID3 tags look ok in there.

I had the same issue, I found http://www.fixtunes.com/ & it did the trick...it says it costs $25 for the upgraded version, however I couldn't even find any limitations, it allows you to change all songs to the correct (mp3 tag) format at once, I did about 300 mp3's total, about 50 at a time.
