Problems with server that is supposed to be up

Postby Orions_Radio » Fri 10th Sep, 2010 1:39 pm

I was reading the outages post ... I liked the idea of having the servers start after the server comes up from a crash .... but right now I have a different issue.

The s5.myradiostream.com shows that it is up because the website works and it can be pinged ( I actually wrote a little php script to do pretty much what I think your "monitor" does) but the server isn't really working.

It would seem its a problem with the advertising giving authorization. The SHOUTcast D.N.A.S. Status can be accessed and says that the shoutcast server is running and even gives the song that is playing.

You can't connect to the stream link (http://s5.myradiostream.com/xxxxx.htm gives you a not found error) and if you created your own page, which I did, you get an error stating: "The requested URL /stream/xxxx/ads.htm was not found on this server." Because of this the player on the page does not play ... I'm sure its getting a non authorized error.

I believe some work still needs to be done or maybe I have another issue.... I'm not fully sure.

If this is only my server and you need the numbers that fill in the xxx's , let me know :D

Hi,

Thanks for letting me know about that - It sounds like I forgot to do a small configuration change when reinstalling it yesterday. I'll get on to that and it should work in the next 10 mins.

thanks ... all solved and working again

*edit*
actually the status indicator isn't working properly yet .. I'm online and the station is working fine but the indicator still shows red. (this is not a big issue for me)
*edit*

You don't mind if I changed the image used for the flash player you offer ... I found the original a bit 'old" looking so I decided to make a quick updated image.

you can take a look at it here: http://ows.dontexist.com/test/testradio.php
but I guess it shows a preview when I attach the file

I will attach the image if you would like to use it or offer it as an alternative to the other image.

I am able to duplicate this problem (UK5-FREE as well) at http://radioskr.net84.net
As you can see, the status is a large part of the makeup of my page, so it's slightly more of an issue for me than Orions. Other than that, I've been very happy with the uptime lately. Keep up the good work!

Re: Status not working

Are you using the PHP or Javascript version of the code?
