Stationfinder.org and FREE servers

I was messing around with stationfinder.org and I noticed that some FREE stations were listed. However I could not get mine on there. My station is The Legacy http://s1.myradiostream.com/15406.htm or http://thelegacy3.tk (My site with the google ads) I did find some by typing in Classic Rock and some say sponsored by freestreamhosting.org so I thought Ah Ha I'll type that in and find my station. Nope it was not there. I even typed in sponsored by to get an entire list of FREE stations. I'd like to broadcast here as a secondary server and not only that but there is some buffering not much however @ 64K and I even tried the other FREE stations. it would be nice to have a list for those FREE stations here.

I'll just check exactly how often free streams are crawled..

This is the frequency of the crawlers for stationfinder:

Premium network: every 15 mins
Value network: every 15 mins
Free network: every hour

The scanner for the free network starts at just past the hour and probably takes a good half hour to complete.

Great I'll have to try again and be patient while the scanner finds me. I'm sure I'll get listeners here as you have the directory where as 2 out of the 3 FREE stream hosts either don't have their own directory or depend totally on Shoutcast.com (we know how that one goes) or worse yet someone to manually add them.

And to let users know you can listen to FREE stations on a droid and any smartphone that will load the google ads for the FREE stations. One could add a link to the pls file on their site and tell listeners to wait 2 minutes while the google ads load. They will enjoy your station on the FREE side. Once again I'll be changing my site back to your server again soon to see what we get.

Update after 2 hrs I was finally listed. However you can't type in "The Legacy" to find me or "The Legacy Album Rock" you have to type in "Legacy" just legacy nothing else. It seams to drop "The" in the search terms. There are lots of good FREE stations out there so tell your friends about stationfinder.org because it lists some good stations out there.

I'll work on the search algorithm at some point - I'm hoping to make some changes to the directory anyway.

I'm gonna be broadcasting this Weekend to see if I get any bites. I found out if you type thelegacyrocks you'll find me. My station plays Album Rock just like the 70's and I believe if you are a fan of artists like the old Genesis you know Foxtrot and the song Supper's Ready, Sammy Hagar, Yes, Emerson,Lake and Palmer you'll love my station. Plus I found it works on a droid by clicking the Windows Media Player link. I've also got a website with a kewl flash player on it. The site is http://thelegacy3.tk
