I want to know why they always go the problems with free systems, why?

I get the same thing as well, but I must tell I have this feeling that the problem is soon solved. If you look around there isn't any other service as good as this. As Gavin mentioned somewhere, he had those cowboys illegally downgrading bandwidth limits...I am sure he is on it as I type this message and I would rather survive this period then going somewhere where there is a constant buffering or no scripts to your own website. So I think we should keep calm. Angry messages wouldn't change a thing. It is as much pain for Gavin then it is for us, we are all in it together.

On the internet if you search there are services like this.
But some are not the same type that I have found a maximum of 30 plays or 40, 1000 while I come in handy as we offer this service.

Yes there are others like Listen2myradio, but they won't allow you to embed. They buffer all the time I use to use them. Even their paid service was less than acceptable. Oh I did find a way for the Blackberry to listen to your FREE station and it works on This system.

1. Make a website with the google ads on it. Then get the ip address and port for your shoutcast server once you do this put the IP and port on your site not in a .pls link like this (only an example):

http://91.121.201.215:15406

Now on your Blackberry open the browser and surf to your website. Wait till the google ads show up. Now type http://ipaddress:port like you saw above. Your media player in your Blackberry will open and your station will play. Pretty neat hey? You can't do that with listen2myradio.

Yes there is freeshoutcast.com, but again more issues. You have to reset your server every night at 6PM, their website is slower than anything I know. You can only stream @ 64K (Huhhh) and sometimes they go down for even longer than this service.

The only problem I have with this service (but its getting fixed) is that stationfinder.org won't work for the FREE service (again its being worked on). If you can find a good FREE service better than this one I am sure they will have issues as there is not that many of them. I've seen them come and go and some you have to use a translator to use since the site is not in English.

I hope the Blackberry trick I taught some of you is something that will keep you wanting to use this service rather than use listen2myradio a service that buffers all day long and has been around for ever and never fixed their servers they really don't care about the FREE service. You either take it or go away.

I guess it was a fluke what it played in my Blackberry as the ads won't show up on my Blackberry and therefore when I try to open the player using the IP address it won't work. Well I tried I thought I had it figured out.

Flash is coming to the Blackberry soon so it will happen 24/7 when it does. Sorry if I misled anyone.

There have been some issues with the free service, but over the next 2 days I'll be:

1) Adding at least one new stream server to the network if not 2.
2) Setting up a new database server to spread the MySQL load out.

mmm ... you've added in recent times 4 servers, but not much has changed, the service offered at the beginning gave the first 5 issues, with the addition of 4, however, the problem is not solved.

I'm sorry for this system, I think you should find another solution and not adding as many servers.

To answer you about listen2myradio.com if you notice on your sign in page (admin) it says "Have problems? change server." The list of servers include several UK servers. They have had to purchase many FREE servers and all of them are junk. They buffer, they've crashed for years. I think finally this year they finally got them to stay up for longer than 8 hrs without a crash. But the buffering even @ 64K still plague these guys. So it says something about them. Plus the only directory is posting your station in their forum. Their chat room on their web page (which they force you to use because they allow no embedding) is a joke and if you type a fairly long sentence it gets cut off and you can't read it. In short its the most horrible FREE shoutcast service I've ever used. I'd rather use freeshoutcast.com before I wasted my time with these clowns who can't get their act together. They'll only give excuses instead of solutions (even for the paid servers). Many Shoutcast.com forums have banned any postings dealing with listen2myradio.com because they always spam trying to attract new users. Free services like this one attract millions of users trying to stream at any given time so I'm not surprised that Gavin's servers aren't flooded. But again this service will run @ 128K without a hitch so when he gets his FREE servers going it will be a nice service that probably won't crash.

@ Gavin:

Blackberry is suppose to have the flash player soon as Adobe releases the official version for Blackberry. As far as I have read it will be in the next OS update. Best thing to do is make sure you have the latest version of Blackberry desktop.
